M-Fuge Camp Information

June 22nd – 27th, 2020 | University of Mobile

High School Parents:

This year our students who have COMPLETED 9th – 12th grade will be heading to FUGE Camp at the University of Mobile. Our high school students will serve the local community during the day through various mission opportunities. During our free time in the afternoon, the University of Mobile offers recreation options like sand volleyball, tennis courts, basketball, and swimming. Aside from the normal camp schedule, FUGE campers at U of M can get snacks and coffee from their campus snack/coffee shop. The accommodations are dorm style rooming with 2-4 people to a room with shared bathrooms. All meals will be provided through the university’s cafeteria.

SO… What is M-Fuge?

M-Fuge is a MISSIONS (serving) CAMP. At MFUGE, you will jump into ministry with local communities and serve people in need. The highly trained FUGE staffers will lead your student in Bible study and serving on their mission site each day. Students will get to invest their time and energy into a variety of mission projects. The University of Mobile M-Fuge location offers Children’s Ministry, Games & Recreation, Social Ministry, Special Needs, and PCY (Painting/Construction/Yardwork). During the day your student will be challenged and stretched as individuals; in the evenings, we’ll have an opportunity to build group unity over dinner, worship, fellowships and church group devotions. M-Fuge campers will participate in mission work in Mobile, AL. Below are descriptions of the different tracks your student will be able to choose from to serve in while at camp.

Ministry Tracks:

Special Needs Ministry

This ministry track involves working with children or young adults who have special needs in a variety of settings. Groups may work at churches, community centers, children’s homes, etc. This track will provide students the opportunity to share the love of Christ in a tangible way.

Children’s Ministry

This ministry track involves working with children in a variety of settings including Vacation Bible Schools, Backyard Bible Clubs, Day Camps, and other site-specific work with children. Groups may work at churches, community centers, apartment complexes, children’s homes, etc. The purpose of this track is to provide students with the opportunity to teach and lead children through Bible stories, games, crafts and music.

Games and Recreation Ministry

This ministry track is designed to help students use their athletic ability and willing hearts to share the gospel through sportsmanship and Christ-like attitudes. These tracks are located in children’s centers or homes, apartment complexes, community centers, and boys and girls clubs. Games and Recreation tracks will not always have the opportunity to lead Bible stories or share the Gospel directly but will focus more on relational evangelism through intentional conversations. This track ministers to people of all ages, from Pre-K to High School and even adults.

Painting, Construction, and Yard Work Ministry

Students in this track will spend their time doing yard work, repairing, cleaning, painting, and light construction work. These tracks work with various organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and local housing authorities to meet the physical needs of churches, schools, families, and individuals. Students in this track will be encouraged to share the love of Christ with people they are working for and with people they encounter through their work.

Social Ministry

This ministry track provides students a variety of ministry opportunities for meeting the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs of people. Students in this track may minister in: mentally/physically handicapped centers, nursing homes, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, food banks, clothing closets, furniture distribution centers, refugee ministries, prison ministries, Baptist Centers, Salvation Army Sites, and other community organizations with similar purposes. Students will work both directly with people in the community as well as behind the scenes.
